QB Flash by Outlier Method LLC · Last updated November 5, 2026
The short version
QB Flash collects only what it needs to save your progress. No ads, no tracking across other apps or websites, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
If you play without an account: nothing leaves your device. Your settings and best scores are stored on your device only.
If you create an account: your player name, a scrambled (hashed) version of your password, and the sessions you save: scores, grades, and what happened on each rep.
If you sign in with Apple: a private identifier from Apple and, if you choose to share it, your first name to suggest a player name. We do not store your email address.
Daily Read: if you're signed in, your daily score, a short result grid, your reaction time and the result of the play are saved so they show on the leaderboards. Other players see your player name and points on the boards.
Teams: if you create or join a team, we store the team name, the school name you type in and who is on the team. Teammates see each other's player names and points, and schools are ranked against each other.
Bug reports: if you send one, we receive what you write, where in the app it happened, the app version and your device type. Your email is included only if you type it in. Reports are kept for up to a year to fix problems.
To protect accounts: the network address of sign in attempts, kept briefly to stop password guessing.
What we don't collect
No location, contacts, photos, microphone, advertising identifiers, or payment details. Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card.
Game Center
Leaderboards and achievements use Apple Game Center, under Apple's privacy policy. You can turn Game Center off in Settings.
Where it's stored
Account data is stored by our hosting providers, Vercel and Neon, in the United States, and is used only to run QB Flash.
Coaches
If your coach runs the team account, the coach can see the player names and saved sessions on that team, to help you improve.
Developer review tool
The QB Flash website includes a hidden review tool, the Coach, that only Outlier Method's developer can turn on with a private code. It is not part of the iPhone app. On the website it is off for every player: it does not load, keep a log or send anything unless that code is entered on the device. When the developer turns it on for his own testing, it keeps a short log of reps and screens on that device, and when he asks for a review it sends that log, a session summary and a picture of the field to Anthropic, which runs the Claude AI model, to get suggestions. Anthropic handles that data under its own privacy policy.
Deleting your data
Open Account in the app and tap Delete account. Your account, every saved session, your Daily Read results and any team you own are erased right away. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.
Children
QB Flash is made for players 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 created an account, email us and we will delete it.
